ULTRIBE PADERU [8 Dec 24, Paderu, Andhra Pradesh]

For those uninitiated, VTRA – the organisers of Ultribe-Paderu are a not-for-profit group dedicated to foster the sport running. Founded and led by a team of passionate runners, who have a varied experience in running, specifically trail running, they have now come together to give the same kind of experience to other passionate runners. With this specific purpose in mind, the team has decided to organize Ultribe-Paderu as the first Trail Ultra running event in AP & Telangana.

 

The event will be conducted around Paderu, a sleepy town located at a height of approx. 900 mtrs in the district of Visakhapatnam. Blessed with lovely and serene valleys, picturesque hills and waterfalls, Paderu is a mandal headquarters and situated at a distance of 100 km north-west of Visakhapatnam in the serene Eastern Ghats.

We assure you that we are working hard to make the event bigger and better in its 4th edition.

Ultribe Paderu 2024 – Frequently Asked Questions

  1. When is the Ultribe Paderu 2024 event?

    • The event will be held on December 8, 2024, with race categories of 10K, 25K, 50K, and 80K.

  2. Where is the start point for the event?

    • The start point is located in Paderu, a scenic hill station in Andhra Pradesh, surrounded by lush greenery and trails.

  3. What are the race categories and their cut-off times?

    • 10K: 3 hours

    • 25K: 6 hours

    • 50K: 10 hours

    • 80K: 16 hours

  4. Who can participate in Ultribe Paderu 2024?

    • The race is open to all levels of runners, from beginners to experienced ultra-trail runners. Participants must be at least 18 years old for the 25K, 50K, and 80K categories, and 16 years old for the 10K with parental consent.

  5. How do I register for the event?

    • Registration can be done through the official website,open until November 15, 2024.

  6. Are there age restrictions for each category?

    • Yes, participants must be at least 18 years old for the 25K, 50K, and 80K races. The 10K is open to those 16 and older with parental consent.

  7. What is the refund and cancellation policy?

    • All entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable to another year or participant, regardless of the reason (injury, emergencies, etc.).

    • If the event is canceled or modified due to circumstances beyond control (e.g., natural events), no refunds or rollovers will be issued.

    • Bibs cannot be sold or transferred without following the official transfer process.

  8. What is the policy on bandits and bib switching?

    • Running without registration (bandit running) or using someone else’s bib is prohibited.

    • If caught, both parties will be banned from Ultribe Paderu for one year, and the bib switcher will be disqualified from official results.

  9. What is included in the registration fee?

    • The registration fee includes a race bib, event t-shirt, finisher's medal, refreshments at aid stations, and medical support during the race.

    • Finisher medal is only for Finishers who finish within the cutoffs

  10. What amenities and support are available on the course?

    • Aid stations will be set up every 8-10 km, offering hydration, energy drinks, fruits, and basic first aid. Medical support will also be available along the route.

  11. Is there a pre-race expo?

    • Yes, a pre-race expo will be held on December 7, 2024, at the event venue, where participants can collect their race kits, attend briefing sessions, and explore sponsor booths.

  12. What are the mandatory apparel and gear requirements for the race?

    • Participants must carry the following mandatory gear:

      1. Trail-running shoes with good grip.

      2. Hydration pack or water bottle (minimum 1-liter capacity) for 25K, 50K, and 80K categories.

      3. Headlamp or torch with extra batteries for 50K and 80K participants.

      4. Emergency whistle.

      5. Personal first aid kit.

      6. Mobile phone in a waterproof bag.

      7. Race bib worn at all times.

      8. Sun cap or buff.

      9. Windproof or waterproof jacket for 50K and 80K runners.

      10. Energy gels or snacks to sustain energy between aid stations.

    • Gear checks may be conducted before the race, and runners without the mandatory items may not be allowed to participate.

  13. How do I reach the Ultribe Paderu start point?

    • By Air: The nearest airport is Visakhapatnam International Airport, 110 km away.

    • By Train: Visakhapatnam Railway Station is 100 km from Paderu.

    • By Road: Drive from Visakhapatnam via NH16 and SH39 (2.5-3 hours). Buses are available from Visakhapatnam.

    • Event Shuttle Service: Shuttle services may be provided from Visakhapatnam to the race venue. Details will be shared closer to the event date.

    • Accommodation: Limited options are available in Paderu. Early booking is recommended.

  14. Will there be awards for the top finishers?

    • Yes, awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in each category.

  15. Is there a baggage drop facility?

    • A baggage drop will be available at the start point. Participants can leave their bags and collect them after the race.

  16. What should I do if I need to withdraw from the race?

    • If you need to withdraw, inform the nearest aid station or race marshal immediately. Arrangements will be made for your safe return to the start point.

  17. Are there any tips for preparing for Ultribe Paderu?

    • Training tips and preparation guides will be available on the official website/social media handles, including recommended gear advice.

  18. Can I volunteer for the event?

    • Yes, volunteers are welcome. Sign up through the official website to support the event.
